Could do Software Carpentry style and invite folks to add their location when they add one! (I think a PR template? Issue template? might assist): https://software-carpentry.org/workshops/ (it looks like their flow has changed... but used to be an invitation with assist to get yr workshop added

I like the PR template idea. It's very low overhead on the maintainer side.
