badges and gamification
users should be awarded with badges
after @cwarden's tweet I started to get a little more interested in this, so I was about to come here and start this issue to track possible badges and metrics. If there was a way to mark a comment I would say 1 comment per badge idea, but maybe that's still a good idea even without the voting
1st tomato - new born tomatoer 10th tomato - you got it 100th tomato - getting confident 1000th tomato - you first goal
personally I think there are a lot of metrics that are more interesting than badges... one thing i have been pondering is a display of how well your day is going so far compared to previous days. So eg today you have gotten more tomatoes done than on 60% of your previous days. Also stats for consistency: your score is N if you have been doing at leas N pomodoros for N days, or something along those lines.
I agree with phreeza's views. Importance should be given for consistency rather accumulation/aggregation.
@phreeza I think both metrics are interesting, anyway I didn't get your "your score is N if you have been doing at least N pomodoros for N days" can you explain it better please?
example 1: day 1 - 3 tomatoes day 2 - 2 tomatoes day 3 - 4 tomatoes what should my score be?
about badges I posted a weekend hack project: http://www.weekendhacker.net/projects/WP181-Tomatoes
Score could be the min. number of pomodoras for the past 7 days baring the weekends (only in case they are less than weekdays minimum).
