Thanks for the pull request. This might need extensive testing because there's a reason we use a custom graphql client. No promises or prioritising this.

Setvar removes description, create updatevar or similar command to handle existing variables better.

Unfortunately this would only work for OpenTofu, but it is doable. Seems to be included since [version 1.9](https://opentofu.org/docs/intro/whats-new/#target-and-exclude-files)
