Item Filter Backwards Compatibility to 1.16.5

Any chance the item filter can get backward compatibility to 1.16.5 for mod packs that run an older version of MC? I've been playing through R.A.D.2 and ran into a number of issues where I needed to sort items and having the item sorter in addition to the tags would solve a lot of issues.
