#71 This bug has been pointed out for some time, but the developers do not understand this and have failed to fix it. In the first place, the developers of this program do not seem to understand much about the technical background of Unicode emojis.

Hello. The developer, singular, has a life of his own and does not owe you his time to fix and develop things as you see fit. I am not using Linux much these days and have not worked on emote for a long time. It's provided as-is. If you want to see development, please provide a pull request.
