Untranslated glossary terms are breaking AI translations

Open lastmelonontheright opened this issue 2 months ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug When a term is not translated in the Glossary, it will be used in its default language and form, as in the glossary, when using AI to translate a string.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Glossary
  2. Create new term "Test"
  3. Do not translate it
  4. Go to project
  5. Add key "This is a test."
  6. Translate it by machine translation to different lanugage.
  7. Translation will include word "Test" with capital letter in EN lanugage.

Expected behavior If terms are not yet translated to target language in Glossary, they should be translated as regular words.

Hi! Thanks for the report!

The AI may have misunderstood what to do with this glossary term. Have you set any other tags for that term? (Is the term marked as translatable—the non-translatable flag is off?)

I'm surprised it capitalized the 'T' even when the "case-sensitive" flag is off.

I'll update the default AI prompt to help prevent these issues. You can also experiment with the AI prompt for your machine translations and give the AI more instructions on handling your glossary terms.

We could exclude glossary terms that lack translation and description from being sent to the AI, but there might be situations where this would be helpful.
