ALC888 OSX El Capitan 10.11.3 Issue

Open hwijegun opened this issue 8 years ago • 8 comments

Hi Toleda,

I have tried all your methods, RealtekALC/CloverALC but without success. So right now I'm helpless and clueless.

I am trying to get audio working on MSI P43 Neo mobo. I have installed OSX 10.11.3 by using unibeast/multibeast on the machine.

When I run DPCIManager it shows the following as my audio codec as 0x10EC0888, revision : 0x0001 and codec name : Realtek ALC888S-VD. It also shows another audio device with no codec ID (which I'm not sure what it is)

Can you please guide me on how to get audio working on my hackintosh please? should I use RealtekALC or CloverALC? Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks in advance.

See https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALC_guides/blob/master/Realtek%20ALC%20AppleHDA.pdf Unsupported/Non-working Realtek ALC AppleHDA 4. 888_v100201 and earlier

Thank you for the quick response.

But If you mean Select Y when suggested to use legacy driver in Audio_realktekALC-110.command, I've already tried that and it still didn't work.

Maybe I am doing it wrong, What I do is install the OS using UniBeast installer, then set audio ID to 1 using clover configurator and then run Audo_realtekALC-110.command. Is this the correct method? If not can you please correct me?

Thanks again! This is my first time building a hackintosh and can't wait to get test it out with audio! ^^

888_v00001, not supported.

Ohh that is unfortunate :(

Is there a workaround? Or are you aware of any other method that might work? I'm desperate here, tell me anything that might help.

If everything is no, can I expect you to add support to it in the future? Thanks.

if the Legacy workaround does not work, there is no other solution. Resources limited to codecs I own, no chance it will be added.

Terrible news for me. But anyway I guess it can't be helped.

Thank for trying toleda. Keep up the great work!

Btw how do you convert a codec ID to hex? or get the hex code for my codec ID (0x10EC0888)

Apologies for the delay, 10EC0888 is hex.
