OSX 10.11.4 sound degradation

Open kenmadsen opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

Been running OS X 10.11.3 and everything has worked. Updated to 10.11.4 yesterday and now my sound on ALC1150 degrades over time in certain apps (iTunes, VLC so far) They will play ok for a while, then it will start to sound like either a filter is added or its played in a can (sorry don't know how else to explain it) until it completely sounds mangled up. Reselecting the output in audio switcher will make it work again for said same short while.

No issues in safari

Additional notes: If a system sound has to be mixed in, degradation is immediate until the system sound ends. Using audio midi setup with sound flower; the degradation happens a whole lot faster.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5.

EDIT: used audio_cloverALC-110_v1.0q10.command for installation after updating to OS X 10.11.4 btw

For me this happens when updating Clover to r3368, on r3346 everything works great. Happens both in 10.11.3 and 10.11.4. Noticeable after about 30 sec of playing an audio file. ALC1150, audio_cloverALC-110.command, audio id 1, Z170

If this is a CloverALC problem and not a Clover problem and it is not easily reproduced, i can provide the files as per your Problem Reporting link.

@Sn0wStorm that would be a good idea. I found a solution for my self by switching to voodoohda, sound is working now and i'm even getting my main sound from the green jack instead of the black. Still want to thank you toleda for your hard work on the sound projects!
