Timeline is capturing the screen saver
The timeline feature is showing how long the screen saver has been active. It displays the entry as ScreenSaverEngine. Can you consider making Toggl Desktop auto-ignore that service?
💻 Environment
Platform: macOS
Not only does it capture it, but it does odd things with the idle time. I notice that when I've been gone more than 20 minutes, the idle time might be 35 minutes and then it will drop down to 15 minutes. I always have to go in and manually adjust the last entry by 20 minutes. I finally figured out it's caused by this somehow, like it doesn't count the screensaverengine at first and then changes its mind.
Case reference Timeline records locked screen as loginwindow
One user reached out reporting that the app will record "loginwindow" when the computer is put to sleep. They also mention that they have ‘stop running entry on computer sleep/shutdown’ feature enabled.
@skel35 just putting this one back into focus 🙂

Same for me. Is there a way to prevent this/fix it? Or is it something that you're working on?
Same issue here on macOS (M1). This is sadly diluting the value of the timeline view.
Would it be possible to allow users to exclude terms from displaying in the timeline view? Just like it's possible to auto-track things and assign project based on terms? Shouldn't be too hard to implement, right?
This way, users would be able to work around it, or you could even add 'loginwindow' and 'screensaver' as default exclusion values.
hey @vendojo, thanks for bringing this up. We will keep this in mind and try to include a bug fix in the new macOS app.

Any news on this one, @AndrewVebster? It has been a while...
👍
Hey any updates on this issue? I use a brand new Macbook Pro 16" with Apple M1 Max and I still have this ugly bug ...
This issue is 2 years old and still not fixed ...
Are you going to fix it, or is it better if I change software? :O
Hey @DanielOberlechner
At the moment, we are not implementing anything new in this repository.
We’re currently reworking the internals of our macOS and Windows desktop apps, and we plan to release the refreshed apps soon. If you’re interested in trying the app now, take the beta version for a spin. For more information, please visit the macOS feedback repository. In 🧰 How can you help? you will find an installation link.
From what I see, this issue was fixed there.
@AndrewVebster Thank you for informing me that there is a beta. I've registered myself for it and now I'm using the beta version.
Hope with the beta everything runs well.
Kind regards, Daniel Oberlechner
