Some Mastodon users' replies to other users are showing up in my timeline

Similarly, these two replies are also showing up, despite me not following the person they're replying to.

I haven't noticed this issue from accounts from any server other than tapbots.social, so maybe something's weird about that server?

replies will show up in the timeline, unless you've switched them off. there's nothing obvious about those specific posts when I look at the JSON. can you confirm your no-replies setting on the timeline page.

My no-replies settings look like this:

But as far as I understand, I don't generally see replies from follows->non-follows in my timeline, even if they show up in my Everything tab.

~~try switching on no-replies. generally speaking, if it's a public reply it will show up in the timeline unless that's filtered out. i'll doublecheck the rules tomorrow morning, however.~~

hmmm, it's possible it gets around the filter if someone else shares a reply
