How long did you let the application run while it's copying? It may take some time, there are a few thousand small files in there

What exactly is the plan here? Maybe I can help out :)

That setting is just to set what player gets opened when clicking Render -> View Animation to review the rendered frames, so not much of an integration, just a dropdown...
