copy/paste in draw.io

Hello,

I'm using draw.io v11.1.4 with C4 plugin on Windows. I cannot copy / paste C4 shapes with it.

• Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V don't give anything
• Copy with right-click, then Edit menu: Paste entry is disabled
• Mouse drag with Ctrl key pressed simply moves the shape, doesn't duplicate it
• Duplicate doesn't work

Even worse: C4 shapes are not / don't look available anymore.

You mean, when you copy the shapes into a new draw.io diagram then the C4-Shapes with the special Menu to set Description and so on are not longer available or?

I know about this or similar bugs, and can't tell you at the moment about an good workaround. I think the best way to exchange or make a copy of an C4 Diagram is to save it as xml and open it again in draw.io (rename it on harddisk).

I'm not sure if that was a working workaround. But can you provide me your diagram, then I can have a look - possible via e-mail or here.

I know that this happens in relation to the xml-structure which is created by draw.io and our plugin.

The way how I created the shapes in this version isn't correct like draw.io works, I learned this while I was working in v.2.x of c4-draw.io plugin and this found many other questions which are related to this.

I think that the xml structure which is created while copy and paste isn't connected completly, there are tag which are then disconnected. You can check the attribute "parent" of the draw.io diagram and please also check how the xml structure and attributes are setuped when you create an fresh c4-draw.io diagram (from scratch).

I still have to plan when I will invest one or two weeks of holiday into v2. of draw.io, and will ask the developers of draw.io to explain me a few things so that I can work more efficiently on version 2.
