Implement verlet lists

Frank Smallenberg demonstrated that verlet lists work well for hard-sphere systems. This would greatly improve speed in asymmetric systems, and provide a fallback implementation for small system sizes. The paper is here https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.01100

This will prevent issues on dense compression of binary systems (see #76).
