Contact Truely Ergonomic. They have source code and may be able to improve their firmware. But I doubt they can meet your requests. They failed to provide their hyped keyboard...

Are you using 8Mhz crsytal actually, or prescaler(1/2) with 16Mzh? How much can you save battery comparing with 16Mhz?

Sorry for late response. Hmm, interesting. Nice keymap editor idea. EEPROM is really another viable resource for keymap storage. I also worked keymap editor and it is primitive but works...
