Xorg CPU usage on Linux

Performance: on Linux (at least), there is an unsatisfying large CPU usage coming from python and Xorg to be investigated.

Great to see so much activity on the software recently and I wonder wether there's something that could be done about that performance issue on linux. I have a modest 2014 i5 X240 laptop but with the fan running it's a bit annoying.
