MacOS freeze when going fullscreen

Open thirstyice opened this issue 5 years ago • 9 comments

Clicking the fullscreen/maximize button causes the window to freeze. Program as a whole is not frozen and can be quit normally, but window is not responsive. Only happens when running one of: Long-time levels, FFT spectrum, or Scope.

Hi @thirstyice,

Thanks for your report. I don't have a Mac myself, so fixing these issues is not easy.

That being said, I've just released Friture 0.42 (https://github.com/tlecomte/friture/releases/tag/v0.42), which updates some of the dependencies and build tooling used to prepare the Macos package. Would you be able to try it please? Thanks!

On MacOS 10.13.6, it fails to launch. Will try on Mojave when I get to my other computer.

On Mojave Friture still freezes when you click the fullscreen button

Hi @thirstyice, would you be able to confirm if Friture 0.45 still has this problem ? Thanks!

Still fails to launch on 10.13.6

Unfortunately I recently had to upgrade my Mojave computer to Catalina, where the bug doesn't seem to occur even in 0.41 Will update if I get access to a computer running Mojave

Ok, installed Mojave on an external drive to test this. Still freezes with 0.45

I'm gonna make a new issue for the failing to launch on 10.13, to keep this issue focused on the freeze on fullscreen

Cant reproduce. Looks like it could be closed

Friture 0.49 MacOS Ventura 13.4

It went away when I upgraded to Catalina, so I think it was only ever Mojave-specific. Mojave is now old enough that I myself am not particularly concerned if it doesn't work on that platform.

May be worth noting somewhere that friture doesn't support macOS prior to Catalina though
