Thank you for the PR! It is very exciting to see training features coming in. One minor thought. It might be better to create the discussion thread under Issues tab rather than PR tab for the consistency? PR can have a link to the discussion thread instead.

Thank Andrew for the effort! I would suggest to rename the post as "high-level op autodiff" and move the content to the issue page for discussion.
