Unable to load MATLAB shortcut
When I tried to load it as a shortcut, I get the following issue:
And afterwards, whenever I open the taskbar-groups.exe, it shows the following error
Even though the .exe for MATLAB does not exist under x86
Not sure, what the issue is
Hello, I am another user of TaskbarGroups, and I suppose @tjackenpacken will not have time to answer all open issues, so I try and help. Your question deserves some clarification. To launch Matlab manually, I imagine you have a shortcut, for instance on the Windows desktop? I created most of my TaskbarGroups shortcuts this way:
- right click on the existing shortcut, generally on the desktop
- click on Properties
- by default the field Target is selected, you then just have to depress Ctrl C
- close the properties dialog box by clicking on Cancel, or depressing Esc
- in TaskbarGroups, in the Edit Group dialog box, click on "Add new shortcut", depress Ctrl V, and then Enter.
I imagine you did that? Well, there must be an explanation to the fact that the initial target you copied points to an inexistant file.
This has first to be cleared up, before somebody for TaskbarGroups is able to answer.
Possibly, there is a confusion, concerning Matlab, between a development path, and a path after deployment.
You will get information by typing this command line:
DIR C:\matlab.exe /S
This possibly takes some minutes. If you have an indexed search software such as Everything, it can be quicker with it.
If you installed Matlab on another device than C:, it is up to you to adapt the command line.
Perhaps the correct expression is "the Target field"?
no actually, I used the direct .exe in my MATLAB>R2023b>bin.
Though i have given up on it, since that issue caused the whole TaskBarGroup program to become corrupted in its GUI and when trying to generate a new group.

Oh, I see. It keeps on being strange. Try and create a Windows shortcut on it, to see whether the shortcut runs properly. Take care that I completed my first message, to search for the executable if needed.
