Shortcut to On-Screen Keyboard broke it

Open Brinzer opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

I have a disability and in trying to make a group for accessibility tools something permanently broke the Taskbar-Groups app. It didn't let me attach the shortcut to On-Screen Keyboard so I deleted the group and shortcut made, but it still has this [attached] error pop up whenever I interact with any of the groups in the taskbar or in app.

I am worried to try other accessibility and system tools that I use regularly like the magnifier, task manager, snipping tool, mouse settings, etc.

@Brinzer Hi! A lot of fixes have been added since the last time this repo was updated. Before you do so, please do these steps to delete the group if you can't remove the application causing the error from it.

  1. Follow the guide here to show hidden files
  2. Press your Windows key and paste in %appdata%\Jack Schierbeck\taskbar-groups\config to navigate to the folder path where the group data is contained.
  3. Find the group that you added an accessibility app to and delete that folder (this will remove the group)

That should get the application back into a working state. If you want a clean wipe, you can delete everything in the %appdata%\Jack Schierbeck\taskbar-groups` folder.

Please head over to here to download the latest release from the repo that is currently maintained by me. I believe it doesn't have an issue with this (a lot of bug fixes have been done since the latest release of this repo).

If you still have an issue, open up an issue over there and I'll get on fixing it right away.
