Current recommendation for async config

This hasn't been updated in a while, so I assume you're no longer using it? What's your recommendation for ensuring dbs/services are connected before accepting connections?

I had planned on throwing this stuff into some middleware that simply ensures stuff is connected before moving on, or perhaps loading this stuff in a boot.js or something that runs before the app is even touched…

Any suggestions?
