generally it'll be more expensive, but if you're doing something like ingesting logs/metrics for your app it should be a lot more cost effective than API GW once you pass...

Sounds like the regional portion still has an issue, I just saw someone in the CloudFormation Slack saying they hit the same limitation, but it should be a quick thing...
