Ethernet passthrough
I've been waiting years for this to become a reality, thank you for starting the development!!!!
As an IT support person, less wires is better and not having to carry a switch (or config this to different people's wifi) would be supper helpful, any chance we could implement an ethernet passthrough/Internet Connection Sharing?
One ethernet cable goes into the onboard ethernet, you plug in a USB to ethernet converter, then plug an ethernet into that and the computer your are working on.
The other option might be some sort of connection through the USB-C, but I don't even know if that is possible.
Thanks again!
You can use a USB-ethernet adapter and use the pi as a "router" for the target device. See this guide (you can stop at the wifi part, assuming you aren't doing that):
https://github.com/garyexplains/examples/blob/master/raspberry_pi_router.md
And you can also use the USB-c port to emulate an ethernet adapter, as demonstrated in this guide:
