0001156: Identities for sender ("From:")

Version: Leonie (2009-07) Beta 1

Currently felamimail supports a set of accounts to choose from, when sending emails. Adding an account requires smtp+imap settings and adds an complete new view in the email pane on the left.

We send all emails through one smtp server and also have mails from different accounts fetched to one maildir, so choosing from more than one identity without having to add a complete new account would be nice.

Such "identitiy" settings would include:

  • account name (required)
  • email address (required)
  • sender name (optional)
  • signature (optional)
  • reply-to address (optional)
  • set as default (optional)

Additional information: - have a look at thunderbird / roundcube

Maybe you could have a look at the identities setup in roundcube. I've uploaded a screenshot.

any news on that - sometimes one account has several pointing mail aliases ;)

a basic version of this has already been implemented in #4010 ... but this only works if you administrate the whole email user with tine (via postfix or ldap).

Allmost 2 years old, but can you describe, how or where I define such an alias adresse for sending?

@Mike-Sbg I'm adding the mailserver integration howto to the wiki (again) - see https://github.com/tine20/tine20/issues/7182
