pulling images with docker

hi, i'm trying to run the "docker pull hello-world" command and it gives me the following error:

failed to register layer: Error processing tar file(exit status 1): Error creating mount namespace before pivot: operation not permitted

i looked at different forums regarding this and tried numerous things. e.g change permissions on the file, changed settings using the docker software and unfortunately it still doesn't make any difference.

would you the next advise or steps in trying to rectify this
