Would remove the need for handling password resets, add oauth providers, even make AD integration possible. There's a free plan, but it's creating a hard dependency on a non-open source service.

jan in couchdb irc suggested that hapijs' http proxy feature lets you rewrite couchdb's session tokens into jwt and back
