ReleaseNotes returns 'null' for Android

Open zenkog opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

This is my code:

 @override
  void initState() {
    super.initState();
    final newVersion = NewVersion();
    _checkVersion(newVersion);
  }

  void _checkVersion(NewVersion newVersion) async {
    final status = await newVersion.getVersionStatus();

    if(status != null) {
      debugPrint(status.releaseNotes); // Always returns null for Android but works for iOS
      debugPrint(status.appStoreLink); // Works for both iOS and Android
      debugPrint(status.localVersion); // Works for both iOS and Android
      debugPrint(status.storeVersion); // Works for both iOS and Android
    }
  }

Somehow status.releaseNotes works well on iOS but it always returns null on Android. Strangely, all the other values works (i.e: appStoreLink, localVersion, storeVersion, etc).

Anyone knows what I'm missing here?

I'm using new_version: ^0.3.0 in my pubspec.yaml

And just in case someone asks, the release notes on Google Play Console is not empty.

Here is my `flutter doctor -v`

Are you based outside the US? I realized we are checking in the code for the string "What's New". Maybe that's failing when the page is in a different language.

The page is in English. There is no other language. Still having the same issue
