[REQ] Add "Gaming Mode" Toggle to GalaxyBuds Client for Reduced(?) Audio Latency
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When using Galaxy Buds Pro/3 series with Windows via GalaxyBuds Client, audio latency during gaming or real-time applications is noticeably high. On Samsung mobile devices, the Wearable app’s Labs section includes a "Gaming Mode" that reduces latency, but this feature is missing in the Windows client, leading to a subpar experience for gamers and users requiring real-time audio feedback.
Describe the solution you'd like Integrate the Gaming Mode toggle into the GalaxyBuds Client’s Labs section. This mode should replicate the functionality of the Samsung Wearable app’s implementation, optimizing Bluetooth codec settings or device parameters to minimize audio delay. If possible, include a latency measurement tool (e.g., visual feedback or metrics) to confirm the reduction.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Manually tweaking Bluetooth codecs via third-party tools (e.g., Bluetooth Tweaker, Peace), but this is unreliable and didn't quite solve.
Additional context
Mobile Implementation Reference: On Samsung devices, enabling Gaming Mode in the Wearable app’s Labs section reduces latency significantly. A similar backend command or parameter adjustment could be ported to the Windows client.
Technical Feasibility: Samsung’s proprietary protocols (e.g., Scalable Codec) may already support low-latency modes. Reverse-engineering the Bluetooth HCI commands sent by the mobile app when Gaming Mode is toggled could help replicate this feature.
bump, please add this. latency is really bad for desktop use.
i think the gaming mode is a feature of the samsung scalable codec which is only available on samsung devices. on devices that arent samsung you cant enable gaming mode because you cant use the samsung scalable codec
