Feature request: Replace [[wikilinks]] with gist URL if linked note is already shared

Open distbit0 opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Hey thanks so much for this extension, I have probably used it to share several hundred notes so far.

I often share notes which link (i.e. [[this type of link]]) to other notes (e.g. more details on a certain topic may be contained within the linked note). However, when I share notes as gists with contain such links in them, the notes being linked to are inaccessible to viewers of the gist.

What I was wondering is if you could automatically convert wikilinks to other notes to https links to the note's gist link, if the linked note is already shared as a gist?

This would make it much easier to share context-heavy notes which link to other notes for more information.

many thx! :)

👋🏻 Thanks for reaching out, and great to hear that you find the extension useful ❤️ I'm unlikely to have the time to work on this, but I'm happy to leave it open for anyone to work on.

Hi, Do we have access to previosly shared gists?

Gists are stored in the frontmatter of the file, so when sharing you should be able to follow the direct link and find the url of the shared gist.

It is however possible to create multiple gists for the same file, so you might need some additional prompts if a file has multiple gists.
