Launching X program just acts like launching without a WM

Whenever I launch a program through S-r it just opens it in its own Xwindow as if there were no window manager.

Anybody know if I'm missing a configuration step or something? Vanilla Emacs with EXWM works fine, but this isn't working when using Spacemacs and this layer.

I'm on FreeBSD btw.

Simply using S-r works for me at the moment. You could try exwm-debug and see whether you find some info there.

Are you also using FreeBSD? I don't really know how to reproduce this...
