Progress output on clusters

On clusters, the progressmeter will generate new line to .err file. For example, in our cluster with slurm 19.05.2, the .err file is like:

Is there any way to let the output or error message of ProgressMeter on slurm or other clusters to be only one line and update itself as in cmd?
