Default Mail Client doesn't work

OS Zorin OS 16.1 x86_64 (based on Ubuntu 20.04)

Gmail Desktop Version 3.0-alpha.34

Describe the bug Installed .deb. Function Default Mail Client returns "There was a problem with setting Gmail Desktop as default mail client. It doesn't show up under OS Default Applications >> Mail either.
