Menu checkbox for 'default email client' doesn't work

  • Gmail Desktop Version: 2.23.2.0
  • OS Version: windows 10 Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Uncheck/recheck use default mailto agent in the settings menu
  2. Open windows default apps list

Unfortunately, there's no way to select a custom program in the windows menu and gmail desktop isn't listed there, so I can't choose this manually either :(

Gmail desktop isn't listed in the "set default by app" menu either.

Kiwi for gmail (a similar closed source project) is listed there but I'm not sure how.

Thanks for reporting this. This must probably be configured in electron-builder with fileAssociations (https://www.electron.build/configuration/configuration).
