Is there a way to rotate the bar labels so the text goes downwards?

Or, alternatively I could do a horizontal bar chart...

I've just spent a couple of hours trying to work out how to do this but I have come the the conclusion that for me it will be quicker, easier and more fun to start from scratch and just use diagrams for my one off case.
