Is the project still active?
First of all, I would like to say thank you very much for all the work and effort in making this library.
Our group was tasked recently with working on a PoC based on FHIR SDC for one of our internal projects. We came across this repository when evaluating current SDC implementations and decided to prepare our PoC with it, and thus far it has worked wonderfully.
Along the way, we found some features we needed for the PoC were missing, as well as some minor bugs. Due to time constraints, we created a fork of this repo and went ahead and implemented/fixed them on our side. You can find our repo at: https://github.com/sujrd/faiadashu.
Our PoC is now nearing completion and we were hoping to contribute back to Faiadashu by submitting PRs with some of the SDC features we implemented and fixes to the bugs we discovered.
That said, we noticed there has not been much activity recently in the repo and there's a few PRs too that have been awaiting response for a few months already, so we wanted to confirm first if the project was still under active maintenance.
Hi, thanks for reaching out to me! I'm glad to hear that Faiadashu has helped you out. I guess the truth with regards to project well-being is, that I can currently and for the foreseeable future invest a lot less time into it than I used to. I am currently trying to pull the PRs that bring Faiadashu up to speed on the latest dependencies. I have looked at your branch and it would honestly currently kill me to go through your 80+ awesome improvements and try to understand what they are doing and pull them. I'm not sure how to proceed from here. Would you be interested in maintainership?
@tiloc Thanks a lot for the response!

Thank you for taking the time to do this. To be honest, we are also looking forward to seeing the dependencies updated in Faiadashu as well!

Regarding this, we were hoping to submit small PRs for each of the changes/fixes we made in order to make the review a lot less overwhelming, and hopefully get some feedback about them from you so that we can further improve the implementation.
That said, I totally understand you are quite busy at the moment, and the last thing we'd want is to kill you with all of these changes as you say (please don't die! 😃).
I'm not sure how to proceed from here. Would you be interested in maintainership?
Thank you for the maintainership proposal.
It is certainly an interesting possibility I guess, and I think it'd be great to play an active role in making Faiadashu even more awesome than it already is!
That said, this is not a decision we can make lightly, and it would need to be further discussed with the rest of our team.
Just like yourself, we are also buried under piles of work at the moment, and while everyone else would certainly be more than happy to contribute in Faiadashu, it would depend a lot on whether we actually have the capacity or not to undertake such responsibility.
In any case, I plan to bring this topic up for discussion with our team during our next PoC meeting this week. Would you mind if we hold on giving a response until then?
Please have a nice weekend!
@tiloc As mentioned above, we discussed the topic of maintainership of the project among our team members.
While we definitely would like to contribute towards Faiadashu in general, after discussing this carefully and reviewing our current workload and responsibilities at the moment, I'm afraid we just don't have enough capacity at the moment to help maintain the project.
We could still contribute by submitting PRs with features/fixes to the project as mentioned before.
