Fetching environment information
Type: Bug
Just hangs on project open with
"Titanium: Fetching environment information"
and the Titanium extension menu in the project says "refreshing environment" everywhere (ex: all simulators)
- can't figure out what is causing this.
- where is the log or something to monitor what is going on?
- I've tried closing VSCode and restarting - same results
- what the heck?? I am stuck trying to test something in the simulator

I found the logs, see below. Doesn't seem like the logs depict anything about why the titanium extension is stuck. Not sure what is going on here ... could it be from updating to titanium and node per the "updates available" in the extension has now broken something with vscode or the titanium extension? What next?

I managed to resolve this hang by downgrading node.js from 18 (18.11.0) back to 16 (16.18.0) (which was getting suggested by titanium sdk) and restarting vscode. It is interesting that it was the titanium vscode extension that suggested to update node in the first place and then it caused it to get stuck refreshing the environment. Someone should take a deeper look into this.
@patakijv Out of interest what version of the SDK do you have selected (check using ti sdk
) and in the project you had open? The extension parses the supported version from the project SDK as set here and given that it's currently "12.x || 14.x || 16.x"
I'm not sure why it recommended to install 18.x
@ewanharris I currently have 11.1.1.GA "selected" and in the project I am working on it is 11.1.0.GA and I believe it was set a few days ago as well. I don't remember if the extension was suggesting a specific Node.js version but under Help & Feedback > Updates, at the time it had two line items under that to update, one being the Ti SDK (which I assume was 11.1.1.GA since that is the latest right?) and the other was Node. That said, around the same time (I believe after the TiSDK and Node update through VSCode) I was also installing/updating some brew formulas to include python. Let me know if there is anything else I can offer to help diagnose the problem.
Closing as this was resolved
