that is an ancient version, update to 5.0.0 please

Im quite skeptic about CameraX, we will see later if it really helps in any way once it is out of beta and tested by some devs.

does it work in any downloaded app and not a stock app? Can you maybe try OpenCamera?

well it might be some system limitation then which sends the trigger to stock apps only. What device do you have exactly?
