App
Thunderbird for Android
App version
12.1
Where did you get the app from?
F-Droid
Android version
Xiaomi Hyper OS 2.0.206
Device model
Poco X6 pro
Steps to reproduce
Send email
Expected behavior
Email is copied to sent folder as it's checked in the account settings
Actual behavior
No copy is found
Logs
No response
I also sent emails with app versions 13 and 14 but no copy is found in Sent folder. You can also not find them through other clients, so no local UI issue. And I asked the receiver, emails were delivered corretly. But really bad for personal history
I guess the reason is that all folder assignments have gone away... "Keine" means "none"
There was a problem with 12.x versions which would unset all special folders. If someone updated to 12.x these settings are gone and must be configured manually (or you can try using an older settings backup) - https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-android/issues/9771#issuecomment-3276073361.
I just tried to import on 14.0b2 an export of k-9 13.0 as well as an old export of pre 12 (11 I guess). Both are not importing folders correctly
Lost 2,5 months of outgoing eMail to this (saving eMails to "Sent" stopped working without notice).
There was an issue to implement a "warning" when a sent eMail wasn't saved. It was closed as an "enhancement". https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-android/issues/6276#issuecomment-3584946052
I think that's a misunderstanding; A data loss bug like this must show an error.
I guess they did that in the upcoming version 15:
- Introduce warning in Message Compose screen when no sent folder is detected
- Add confirmation dialog for sending a message without a sent folder
But still I don't get why this info is lost after import or why at least it is not set to "automatic". And that applies to all folders, not only "Sent".
