Colored text is not colored in messages

  1. Open a message with colored text

Expected behavior

The colors show be shown as here from the fairmail app: Screenshot_20241002-144509-978

Actual behavior

The text is not colored: Screenshot_20241002-144540-608

It looks like the K-9/Thunderbird version has been converted to plain text, while Fairemail is showing HTML. Do you have any settings around forcing plain text email? Is this just viewing email, or responding to it?

I didn't explicitly forbid HTML or set any other restrictions. You can see in the screenshot, that it's not plain text. The footer is normal text, the diff structure is monospace, and the head is bold and larger.

As a long term K9 user, I have never seen anything coloured in incoming messages even when other applications show text/highlights in colour. That's in messages that K9 clearly displays as rich text (bold etc). My default compose format is plain text.

This is a big problem in situations where the sender says something like 'see below my comments in red'.
