Problem you are trying to solve

Please implement the folder structure similar to Thunderbird for Linux or Windows with the collapsible folders. I have a lot of folders and subfolders. The current solution is very confusing.

I want to vote for this too! I have way too many subfolders and each one of them shows separately.

just tested beta1 and have the same issue. The Folder.Subfolder.SubSubFolder.Foo design/UI really doesn't cut it. This really is a show stopper for me.

  • In 8.0b1 I had a collapsible parent folder "Archives" with subfolders "Archives/2022", "Archives/2023" ... Neat and easy.
  • In 8.0b2 all of these subfolders are displayed on the same level as the parent, without an option to collapse/hide them.

Why the change?

I would love to see this feature implemented too. If one has lots of folders, it is quite a pain to get around currently. I could work around this if there were virtual search folders available, as on the desktop app, but that's unfortunately not the case (so far, hopefully one day too :-)). BTW: Thanks a lot for TB Mobile, that's so cool!

We're going to work on this as part of #8812 or followups to it, we have some work in progress designs that will show a light folder structure up to a certain level to not make the indent too bad, and then show the folder path.

I'd just like to say, this is a much awaited feature! "2008ish much awaited" https://code.google.com/archive/p/k9mail/issues/17 the 17th issue on the original(?) repo! 🤯

Thanks so much for working on this!
