"Failed to send some messages" error not specific enough
Checklist
- [X] I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
- [X] I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.
App version
6.713
Where did you get the app from?
Google Play
Android version
11
Device model
Pixel 2 XL
Steps to reproduce
- Set up K9Mail to send and receive email from mail server ports 465 (smtps) and 993 (imaps)
- Configure Sendmail to have a 5-second greet pause:
FEATURE(greet_pause',5000)dnl` - Use it for months or years
- Change the email account password on the server and forget to do it on your phone
- Send an email
Expected behavior
I'd expect it to say "K-9 Mail: authentication failed, can't send email"
Actual behavior
It pops up a notification saying "Failed to send some messages" a while after I wrote the email. I have a smart watch that shows notifications, but it doesn't say which app sent it, so I have been scratching my head for a week every time this notification shows up. I finally sat down and figured it out today.
Logs

I updated my password and the problem went away.
