Checklist

  • [X] I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
  • [X] I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.

App version

6.713

Where did you get the app from?

Google Play

Android version

11

Device model

Pixel 2 XL

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set up K9Mail to send and receive email from mail server ports 465 (smtps) and 993 (imaps)
  2. Configure Sendmail to have a 5-second greet pause: FEATURE(greet_pause',5000)dnl`
  3. Use it for months or years
  4. Change the email account password on the server and forget to do it on your phone
  5. Send an email

Expected behavior

I'd expect it to say "K-9 Mail: authentication failed, can't send email"

Actual behavior

It pops up a notification saying "Failed to send some messages" a while after I wrote the email. I have a smart watch that shows notifications, but it doesn't say which app sent it, so I have been scratching my head for a week every time this notification shows up. I finally sat down and figured it out today.

Logs

n/a, this is about the wording of a notification
