Open Keychain is not in active development anymore

Since Open Keychain isn't active developed anymore it would be very important to implement GPG/PGP directly in Thunderbird/K9 mail

also from an endusers perspective, having to mess around with a second app is not ideal.

I agree. Hopefully it is implemented soon.

Thank you for taking the time to file this issue. This seems like a great issue to post on https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/idb-p/ideas/label-name/thunderbird%20android which is where we capture product ideas like this. I think this would be great as part of an overall Thunderbird strategy to invest more into encrypted email. Do you have a minute to post this idea there?

OpenKeyChain has ALREADY stopped development (https://github.com/open-keychain/open-keychain)

Thanks for bringing this to connect! Since we're tracking it there now I'm going to close this issue to avoid fragmentation. We'll review this in our next roadmap planning and see if it makes sense to slot it in. We're keeping an eye on OpenKeyChain. Note while it isn't actively developed, it should still work as expected given they do the necessary maintenance work.

Hello,

are there news about this? The last commit in OpenKeychain is 2 Years ago. Are you sure this is still under basic development? I use Thunderbird because all my mails are encrypted. If someday PGP will not work in Thunderbird-Android I have to switch to a other Mail-Client. But I dont want it.

Please think about it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who need PGP in Thunderbird.
