Send Later / Undo Send
Some email clients such as the stock Samsung client and outlook have a scheduled mail feature where mail would only be sent at a specific time.
I'd like to work on this.
it's going to be a great feature if it's implemented.
Note to implementers: use FUTURESEND (RFC 4865).
This app like to me, but still this feature seems to be not present. Tried many other client, some has this (like fairmail, or Spark, but also classic gmail). So, really hope can be added (and maybe also a little text editor).
Just wondering if this is planned as a new feature currently? Are there any particular issues with implementing this or is it just a lower priority?
Hi @cketti.
I have reviewed the discussions and pull requests related to the scheduled mail feature, particularly issue #688 and PR #2379. I understand that implementing this feature locally has some challenges, and there has been a recommendation to use FUTURESEND (RFC 4865) for server-side scheduling.
Could you please provide an update on the current status of this feature? Specifically, I'd like to know:
- Are there any ongoing efforts or plans to implement scheduled mail using FUTURESEND?
- Are there any particular reasons or challenges that have prevented this feature from being prioritized or implemented?
- What are the preferred steps or guidelines we should follow if we want to contribute to this feature?
- Is there any additional feedback or consideration from the team that could help us align our implementation with k9 Mail’s vision and standards?
We are keen to contribute to this feature and would appreciate any guidance or feedback you can provide.
Thank you for your time and support. Husain
