Reassign addressee to a different field or switch content of two fields, To: <-> Bcc: or Cc: <-> To:
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I'm always frustrated when I need to reassign email addresses from one field to another. E.g. from the To: field to the Bcc: field.
Such a situation is created when message is created using Contacts app by selecting multiple addresses. These addresses are poured into the To: field. But I'm requested not to disclose recipients to each other and it is recommended to use the Bcc: field.
When the need arises to switch addressee from field to field. It has to be one by one. Write one into the Bcc field and delete that address from the To field. With many contacts I rather postpone the editing onto laptop and Thunderbird.
Describe the solution you'd like
I wish to be able fluently assign an address from field to field. It concerns three fields: To, Cc and Bcc. I suggest to add field commands on the bottom of the addressee float. Such a float is open when the email address is tapped. When the address in To field is open, Move to [Cc] or [Bcc] line shall appear, where Move to is a regular text and [Cc] [Bcc] are commands. Tapping one or the other removes the address from the To field and places it in the Cc of Bcc field.
Or/And
I wish to be able reassign the field to another field and this way switch two fields between each other. It concerns three fields: To, Cc and Bcc. I'd tap the To, Cc or the Bcc line beginning and a selector would open (mid screen?) in which I could select between three fields. To: would be preselected and I would select Cc:. And confirm by [Change]/[Switch]. The content of the two would be switched between each other.

- editing on fullscreen Thunderbird on laptop
- reassigning one by one: add one to Bcc field, delete that from To field

As an alternative or additional, maybe even easier solution I would suggest enabling drag'n'drop for recipient pills between to/cc/bcc fields for simple reassigning. This feature is available in Thunderbird and works like a charm.
A direct copy and paste via long press (as in https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/issues/2364) does not work, as it copies an adress like
firstname lastname <[email protected]>,
(with a space at the end)
and failes on pasting that copied value to to/cc/bcc (maybe due to https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/issues/5317)
No drag&drop feature is implemented in K9Mail, so I did not suggest one.
Sure, I would be fine with any of the suggested solutions.
