Added option to strip carriage return when exporting eml files

Open ashikase opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Currently, eml formatted files are exported with DOS (CRLF) line endings, as opposed to Unix (LF) line endings.

I added an option to strip CR (carriage return) when exporting eml files so that the resulting files can be viewed with QuickLook on macOS. Note that Apple's own Mail.app also exports eml files with just LF.

The added option is off by default, and can be enabled in the "Misc" tab of extension's options panel. Localizations will need to be updated for the string that is displayed; currently it will display an English string for all localizations.

@ashikase Thanks, and sorry for the delay. I manually got this into my beta for 115. I will post a link if you are able to try in TB115 beta. When I am set with the update I may be able to backport to the 102 version. @cleidigh

My apologies for not following up on this.

I have tested the latest release of this extension (14.0.2) with Thunderbird 115 (115.10.1), and have confirmed that this feature has been added and is functioning as expected.
