Unable to mark a message as read

Open obosob opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Description
In the inbox there is no way that I can find to mark a message as read. Replies get marked read when tapped on (taking you to the context of the reply) but messages don't seem to have any interaction that marks them as read.

How to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Receive a private message
  2. Go to 'Inbox'
  3. Click on 'Messages'
  4. Note that no interaction with the message marks it as read

Expected Behavior
A simple mechanism to mark the message as read. e.g. a button, tapping the message, etc.

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Device & App Version:

  • Device: Pixel 6
  • OS: Android 13
  • Version: 0.2.3

Additional Context
I have all gestures disabled so I thought it might be only available as a gesture, but I turned them on and there were no swiping gestures to mark the message as read either.

I'm not sure if this is related so checking here before filing a separate issue. When in Messages, Mark all as read marks everything on every tab (including comment replies) as read. Assuming the intent was to only mark the tab read.

Thanks for checking in!

I think the original intent for "Mark all as read" was to mark everything as read (including replies, mentions, and messages). This matches the behaviour of the other option in the menu "Show all", which shows all read/unread replies, mentions, and messages.
