I think it could be nice to have an option where all child comments are collapsed by default and one could open them by tapping the parent comment going every time deeper into the cascade of replies. This defeats the purpose(mostly) of the FAB on the comments section but paired with the option to disable the FAB on comments it makes(for some people) a tidier more intuitive way of navigating comments. This feature has been seen on some other forum related apps and even configured by default.
Anyway that is about it, the app is great, the best out there actually, congratulations!

I'm going to link issue #773 here because I think the requests are somewhat similar. Actually that issue takes your idea (the ability to collapse all by default) and takes it one step further (the ability to collapse to a specific level).
I can here to ask for the same feature. It would work perfectly with "Hide Parent Comment when Collapsed" disabled. Then I could just read the root comments and only expand replies if I think they'd be interesting.
Some other apps have this and I really like it.
