Fix scroll on load behavior

Expected Behavior

When loading older messages, the existing messages should not move.

Current Behavior

The scrolling after loading new messages is a bit buggy. Mostly related to media where we don't know the size in advance.

I would like to provide additional detail (hope this is relevant to the issue):

• when scrolling to the top (e.g. using the "Home" key), the previous page loads:
  • The first time this action is performed, the cursor goes to the latest messages (bottom of the page), I need to scroll again back to the old messages.
  • The second time this action is performed, the cursor scrolls apparently random "around" the new page loaded (can't really understand where)

The scrolling behavior is really annoying. I often have to scroll back to messages I roughly know the date or length of and jumps, scrolling produces drive me mad.
