investigate our bbolt fork's master repo and if it's still reliable as our db of choice

Currently coreos/bbolt, the master repo of our bbolt db, does not seem to be very active. Perhaps this is not too much of a concern, on the other hand it might be of concern as users do find bugs every other week, small as they may be, it does indicate the product is not in a finished state that would permit such half-year inactivity on the maintainer's side.
