Copy message history using normal shortcut keys

Why does the normal cmd+c shortcut keys not work to copy text from the history values? Is there some particular reason why I have to find a copy button in the UI and click it to copy the entire message rather a normal select text + shortcut keys combination to copy the part I want?

In fact, you can not copy text from any part of the application. This is very inconvenient when you have to pick specific parts of messages or status
