Caps lock (3x speed key) only works the first time in Firefox while focused

If I focus another program and turn off caps lock, then focus the browser again, then it works? Might be specific to my mac keyboard setup?

Not specific to the keyboard setup (tried not mapping ctrl to caps lock) but perhaps specific to mac?

Now I see new behavior in FireFox: I just can't turn 3x speed off!
